Etosha waterhole

The Etosha Pan approximately 130x50 kms in size dominates the scenery at Etosha National Park. 

The salt pan is empty most of the year and fills during rainy season attracting flamingoes and pelicans. 

Etosha is the jewel in Namibia's crown, home to a wide variety of bird and animal life. 

4 of the Big 5 (lion, elephant, black rhino and leopard) can be found as well as zebra, giraffe, oryx, kudu, springbok, black faced impala and many others.


The waterholes in Etosha Park are a fantastic way to view game. 

 Each waterhole in Etosha is different and animals spotted at each vary from season to season. The main waterholes in Etosha include Okaukuejo, Okondeka, Halali and Goas and Sueda and Salvadora.


Okaukuejo Resort

Okaukuejo is situated inside Etosha National Park.

 Located 17 km from the southern entrance of the Etosha National Park, Okaukuejo is famous for its flood-lit waterhole, where visitors can observe at close quarters a spectacle of wildlife congregating and interacting.

Halali Resort

Etosha Safari Lodge

Etosha Safari Lodge is located only 10kms from the entrance gates to Etosha.

Perched on a hill with expansive views, this stylish lodge offers 65 chalets that provide a peaceful base from which to explore the animal bounty of Etosha National Park.

Okutala Lodge is a privately owned lodge set on 24,000 hectares of pristine wilderness.

The lodge is 40km from Anderssons Gate to Etosha.

Etosha Oberland Lodge

The Etosha Oberland Lodge opened in March 2020 and is nestled near Andersson Gate in a private nature park adjacent to the Etosha National Park.


The lodge offers an inviting lobby, restaurant and bar with an adjoining lounge with fire pit. To enhance the experience, guests are invited to enjoy a viewing deck and swimming pool as well as free wifi in communal areas.

Ongava Lodge

The well-established Ongava Lodge is situated in the privately owned Ongava Game Reserve along the southern boundary of Etosha National Park. Placed as it is close to the top of a hill in the foothills of the Ondundozonanandana range, the vantage point is beautiful and overlooks a well-frequented waterhole and the plains beyond.

Little Ongava

Ongava Tented Camp 

The classic safari style camp is tucked in a hidden valley at the foot of a dolomite hill in Ongava Game Reserve bordering Etosha National Park.


Eight large comfortable Meru-style tents all have en-suite facilities, open air showers and private verandas; the family unit sleeps four. The main area, built of stone, canvas and thatch, fronts onto a much-frequented waterhole; watching wildlife coming to drink from here or from the swimming pool is a favourite pastime.


Ongava’s proximity to Etosha allows for game drives in the Etosha National Park and on the Ongava Reserve itself. Other possibilities include guided walks, birding and visiting hides.
