The Orange River forms the southern border between Namibia and South Africa.
It is an area of outstanding beauty, and draws a wide selection of tourists.
The river itself is a huge attraction, and canoe trips here are very popular. There are multiple day trips that we can organise, but also half or full day trips, or even a gentle paddle.
It's location, right on the border, makes for a good stopover point between Namibia and South Africa, whether just to rest up for an evening after a long drive, or take a day or two to recharge the batteries.
Below are a selection of our recommended accommodations.
Our consultants can book these as part of an itinerary, or as a standalone accommodation booking.
ORANGE RIVER ACCOMMODATION
Located 50kms west from the Namibia/South Africa border.
Norotshama Lodge offers luxury chalets and floating bungalows with views of the Orange River. Campsites are also available.
Camp Provenance is located only 13kms from the Namibia/South Africa border post. They offer 17 standard cabanas, 2 family rooms and 1 honeymoon suite. All have wonderful river views.
The Sandfontein Nature and Game Reserve is the third largest in Namibia, a massive 76,000 hectares. 25kms borders the Orange River. It is a remote and truly pristine location, that is, although pricey, priceless as far as experiences are concerned.
